Stomp Out the GAP

Community Elder Aunty Elva Pedro places a red ribbon on a student.
Stomp Out the GAP, sponsored by the Cathy Freeman Foundation, is an initiative to increase Indigenous education engagement. Cathy Freeman believes, “Every child deserves the right to reach their potential and achieve their gold medal moment in life.”
Ayr High students and teachers helped raise $138.  These funds will support educational programs to be delivered across schools and communities around Australia. The theme colour of the day was red with Community Elder Aunty Elva Pedro participating by tying a red string on students wrists to signify, "Stay in school and do the right thing, education matters."
