Pink Stumps Day - 2017

On Friday 21 April, the school turned pink in support for the McGrath Foundation.  Pink Stumps Day is an exciting event on the school calendar, which allows all members of the school community to be involved.  The Year 12 cohort ensured that this year would be no different.  Leading up to the day, staff and students purchased raffle tickets in the ‘pink’ raffle, guessed how many lollies were in the jar and took the opportunity to buy merchandise.  The merchandise stall offered hats, socks, wristbands, bandanas and sunglasses, all of which were sold out within two days.

On the day of Pink Stumps, many headed down to the oval for the annual cricket match.  Throughout both first and second break, girls and boys of all ages and abilities joined in the fun.  Some students chose to open the bowling or hit it for 6, whilst others participated in the field.  Pink cupcakes and icy cups added to the excitement, with a massive thank you going out to Mr Williams and the English staffroom for their contributions.  Overall, we raised a huge $1361.55 for breast care nurses.  Congratulations to Mrs Bromham for winning the ‘pink‘ raffle, Julia Cahill (7B) winner of the lolly jar and everyone who supported the Year 12 fundraiser.
