Drama Fest Cast do their Drama Best

Ayr SHS Drama Festival Cast
In May, Ayr High participated in the annual Burdekin Interschool Drama Festival where we continued our tradition of performing a student-written piece. This year, Keagan Flynn’s was selected out of all of the possible script ideas presented: “So, What’s the Script?” The play involved the cast suggesting and acting out different play ideas, from wearing animal onesies, to a story of true love and not ripping off Star Wars. The play was filled with terrific performances from Luke McNee, who kept things hot all night, along with Ryan Kastner, who provided dance moves that not only left the audience in tears, but also stole the whole show. The play concluded as the cast realised the importance of working together resulting in all their ideas combining into a hilarious final scene. Mitchell Pearce, Ky Whittred and Keagan Flynn were deemed the standouts of the performance, winning the Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Director’s Award respectively. A major shout out should go to Ms Gillespie and Mr Pickersgill, whose contribution to the overall success of the production was just as integral as the students' performances themselves.
