COOK Interhouse Cross Country and Fun Run Champions

29/04/2015
2015 Cross Country Age Champions
The annual Interhouse Cross Country and adidas School Fun Run was held Wednesday 29 April.  Friendships were put aside as students fought for positions and points in an impressive field of over 130 runners in the Cross Country.  While students were competing in the Cross Country the remaining student body competed in the Fun Run with these points also contributing to the overall Cross Country House Champion.  Students were keen to complete as many laps as possible to gain maximum points and enjoyed the free ice-block and icy cups during both events.
Cook took out the honours in the combined event, fielding the largest cross country team and continuing their enthusiasm and level of participation in the Fun Run to post a narrow points victory of 725 over Phillip on 705.

Macquarie finished in third place on 622 points and Banks in fourth place on 604 points. Congratulations must go to House Captains for their organisation and for the enthusiastic participation of their respective houses.

Outstanding performances in the Cross Country were achieved by Kyla Pringle (Year 12) and René Le Feuvre (Year 12) who won Division 3 (U16 & U19), Sharni Wight (Year 10) and Ty Everett (Year 10) who won Division 2 (U14 & U15), and Emma Donovan (Year 7) and Declan Dowson (Year 8) who won Division 1 (U12 & U13).

An Ayr High squad was invited to compete at the Interschool Cross Country which was hosted by Ayr State High School on the Tuesday 12 May.  Once again, the success of the event was a result of the time and planning of many people.  These include staff, many of whom gave up their time to officiate and supervise; House Leaders who organised competitors; Year 11 and 12 students who assisted as officials and supervisors and ancillary staff who assisted in preparations.  Congratulations to all students who participated.
